Yoki Daiko

Yoki Daiko (Joyous Drumming) was formed in the Summer of 1996.  Through the dynamic energy of Taiko, Yoki Daiko strives to share their efforts to create a joyous life where all people of the world can live together as brother and sister.  Yoki Daiko has performed at various community events such as the Los Angeles Lotus Festival and the Nisei Week Taiko Gathering.  In 2002, they visited Japan and performed in an annual event held in the City of Tenri.

Masanga Marimba

Masanga Marimba plays traditional and popular music from Latin America and Africa.  The instruments used in this ensemble consist of seven Zimbabwean marimbas of various sizes, along with vocals, drums, percussion, saxophone, and trumpet.  The word "Masanga" comes from an African word that means the coming together of rivers or roads representing the meeting of African, Latin and American traditions in this group.  Masanga is the only marimba ensemble in Southern California that combines Latin and African traditions. Our music is upbeat, danceable, and family-oriented.
